Based in — and inspired by — NYC, Block Headwear offers up a full menu of hats for men, from trilbies and fedoras to knit beanies and baseball caps. Founded in 2000 by Cuban-born designer Ciomi McCabe, a Kangol alum with headwear in her blood (her father just so happened to be the CFO of Kangol), Block uses centuries-old techniques to craft its forward-thinking baseball and caps and hats. Even the name “Block” reflects the label’s respect for the past: a block is the piece of wood around which a hat is traditionally crafted. In addition to two season-specific hat collections released every year, Block Headwear also creates warm gloves and mittens, thickly knit infinity scarves, and other accessories to keep men warm and cozy during the winter months.
Winter Must-Haves: Leather Gloves
Fortunato Portolano began making gloves in Naples in 1895. Since then, the business has been passed through the family, its product sold all over the world, and Portolano Gloves still maintains its reputation of excellence and superior quality. This stunning collection features cashmere-lining for a luxurious, cozy feel with stylized leather in neutral hues. The temperature has already dropped, guys – don’t be caught bare-handed.
